Description
Pulsatilla rubra
Pulsatilla rubra produces bell-shaped, dark red blooms in the peak of spring, blossoming from the large furry buds that emerge early on. Below is fine foliage covered with a layer of fuzzy hair, for a textural appeal. Silky seed heads soon replace the fading spring blooms, for summer intrigue. Ideal for rockeries and gravel gardens, Pulsatilla rubra works well in alpine troughs too. Height: 25cm (10). Spread: 20cm (8).
