The heart-shaped, dark green foliage of Saururus cernuus creates a most attractive backdrop for the white flower spikes in summer. The fragrant flower spikes droop demurely at the tips giving this hardy perennial its common name of Lizard?s Tail. Saururus cernuus makes an excellent marginal aquatic or bog garden plant.
