Sea Buckthorn (Hedging)
Sea buckthorn is a great plant for hedging or screening, and it’s also great for coastal gardening. In the spring, little, silvery leaves, almost willow-like in appearance, sprout on the thorny stems; the yellow flowers will later yield orange, grape-sized fruits that are a good source of Vitamin C. However, the finest crops will need a male plant. This plant thrives in harsh environments, favouring dry, almost sandy soils. Height: 8m (26′). Spread: 8m (26′). Planting Distance: 30 cm (12). (4 plants per metre for a single line hedge).
