Tilia cordata (Hedging)
Tilia cordata is a great option for any boundary hedge because it is simple to cultivate and sustain. This small-leaved lime is commonly seen planted in long rows as avenue trees, but it is also an excellent item for hedges and screening. Tiny white flowers appear in the summer and contrast well with the dark green leaves; later, winged seeds grow in clusters as the leaves gradually turn yellow. Height: 12m (39′). Spread: 8m (26′). Planting Distance: 30cm (12). (4 plants per metre for a single line hedge).
