Description
Viburnum nudum ‘Brandywine’
Viburnum nudum ‘Brandywine’ is a fantastic self-fertile variety that generates the most stunning display of berries even in the absence of a nearby pollinator! This deciduous, spreading shrub is ideal for adding colour and interest to mixed borders for a long season. Summer flowers with flat heads of creamy white are followed by plentiful clusters of pale green berries that progressively ripen into white, deep pink, blue, and eventually black. The berries form an eye-catching display that lasts well into the winter, long after the leaves have fallen. Viburnum nudum ‘Brandywine’ has long, shiny green foliage in the summer that turns burgundy-red as autumn approaches. Height and spread: 2.5m (8′).
