Wisteria sinensis ‘Amethyst’
A lovely Chinese Wisteria cultivar with a deep, strong aroma that will take your breath away. Late in the spring, racemes of violet purple flowers bloom somewhat before the foliage. The pinnate leaves have a subtle bronze flush when they first emerge, but they swiftly mature into a lovely green covering for walls and pergolas. Wisteria sinensis ‘Amethyst’ is a spectacular and robust climber that looks great against a huge wall, or over a pergola or large arbour. Height: to 12m (40′). Spread: 8m (26′). Supplied as a grafted plant.
