Description
Wisteria sinensis ‘Rosea’
This beautiful deciduous, twining climber produces graceful tumbling racemes of lightly fragranced, pea-like blooms that hang from bare stems in May and June, just as the leaves begin to appear. Wisteria sinensis ‘Rosea’ is a breathtaking pink version of the very popular Chinese wisteria and will create a magnificent summer display, covering pergolas and walls. This hardy wisteria can grow up to 9 metres in height and 5 metres across and is a must-have for any cottage garden. Height: 9m (30′). Spread: 5m (16′). Culinary note: The flowers are the only edible part of the plant and can be made into an aromatic wine. Their flavour is perfumed. Caution: All other parts of wisteria are poisonous.
